I have always been fascinated by both computers and the technological advances that are prevalent in our society. I have enjoyed using computers since I was a young child. Recently, computers have become more than a hobby to me. I constantly strive to expand my knowledge. At the age of ten, I started to teach myself HTML, and have since learned to use CSS and server-side PHP language. Over the last year I have become interested in object-oriented coding, particularly C++. I am a hard-working, determined individual with a competitive streak. I function well working in a team and desire additional responsibility; I would eventually like to become a team leader. I would like to study at your university because of its excellent reputation and the outstanding quality of education that you provide in computing, as well as the substantial amount of actual programming experience you offer. I am specifically interested in developing advanced programming skills. Additionally, I currently live near campus, and plan to remain in the same lodging throughout my studies. I participated in the Young Enterprise scheme during year 10 of high school, and year 12 of college. In both cases, I proved that I could function well as part of a team, receiving orders and acting on them. Additionally, I also showed that I could motivate and lead others, delegating work when necessary. I thoroughly enjoy working at a computer, regardless of the task. I have spent time creating programs in PHP and websites in HTML, CSS and PHP. I have also spent time studying C++, but have much more to master before I am fully versed in it. During year 13, I gladly served as the Website Prefect at college. As Website Prefect, most of my time was spent collecting stories and photographs for the college website, rather than web programming. I am excited both by the opportunities that your university provides and by the prospect of working in the computer programming industry. I always strive to do the best I can and to be the best that I can be. I have chosen this course carefully and will work diligently and with great fervor to excel in my studies.
