After waiting more than a year, the moment has finally arrived: a set of installable images of the familiar 0.8.0 prerelease! We need some testing to iron out the little bugs and the final release is planned on the weekend before christmas 2004.
Familiar 0.8.0 is completely build from sources using the OpemEmbedded toolkit, making building and packaging much easier for the developers. The changes from 0.7.2 are too many to name, but a few highlights:
* improved support for the ipaq h5xxx, zaurus and simpad machines
* version 2.5 of GPE
* version 1.1.7 of Opie
