Antenna and wave propagation
In this subject we studied various antennas and their characteristics. these have uses and practical applications in day to day life like wireless communication.
Mobile communication systems.
Deals with aspects like CDMA, GSM, iridium systems and satellite communication.
These are also useful in the study of wireless communication and cellular technology.
Microwave devices and circuits.
Deals with the study and applications of various microwave devices like resonators, diodes, couplers etc, also studied their applications in fields like medicine ,communications and electronics.
Discrete time signal processing and signals and systems.
Dealt with the study of various transforms like Fourier transforms, Z-Transforms etc to process digital data in a quick and effective manner. signals and systems was studied as a pre requisite for discrete time signal processing.
Digital communication.
Dealt with communication using various modulation techniques like digital modulation, baseband modulation, spread spectrum techniques etc, also involved the study of various codes(linear block codes, cyclic codes etc)to prevent and correct errors on the receiver side.
Microcontrollers and embedded systems.
This Subject is based upon the foundation laid by previous subject Microprocessor which dealt with 8085 and 8086 microprocessor, their design and implementation.
Dealt with the study of microcontroller chip(8051) in detail. also studied the basics of embedded systems and application in user appliances.
MS IN TELECOMMUNICATIONS.
Telecommunications today has gained a lot of importance and it continues to do so.
It has numerous applications in day to day life. many of these I find interesting like cell phones televisions etc.
It is something that can be done from different parts of the world and can even reach far of places which are otherwise difficult to reach.
It brings people closer together.
An ms program in such a field would help me understand the topic in a more appropriate manner.
This interest has been developed in my undergraduate course through some of the subjects that have been covered like antenna and wave propagation, mobile communication systems and TV and video engineering.
In these courses we briefly covered topics like GSM,CDMA, line of sight communication, modes of propagation etc. these topics helped me generate an interest in the field of telecommunication.
BE PROJECT
My BE project titled Shortest Path routing using WDM technology comes under the subject Fiber optic communication which is a prominent branch of Telecommunication.
The problem of Routing and Wavelength Assignment (RWA) has been receiving a
lot of attention recently due to its application to optical networks. Optimal Routing and Wavelength Assignment can significantly increase the efficiency of wavelength routed all-optical networks.
This project applies an efficient algorithm to the routing and wavelength assignment problem in all-optical networks. The results show that this algorithm is effective in obtaining a good solution
The project Algorithm is such that though made for Fiber Optical networks can be implemented for any other wireless/wire network too. So its Global in nature.
Special Skills required for the project included Programming skills for creating the algorithm.
WORK EXPERIENCE AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
I repair and assemble computers. I dont know if that counts as a Work Experience. I do it for free (for my friends and relatives) and do not represent any shop or company. (Standalone)

Career goals
I would like to do my MS in a good university which would provide me a challenging core curriculum and help nurture my skills in the subjects.
After which I would like to work for a few yrs and do my PhD/MBA side by side.
Then probably come back to India and settle down with a good satisfying job.
A job where I can make a difference and there is opportunity to grow as an individual.
