oO
i'm trying to mount my Fat-16 (I need that format because i want it to be readable on MS Windows too) usb-memory on mandriva 2007, what was no problem on mandriva 2006 but everything i try figures...
On my other machine, running with puppy linux, the device is mounted automatically and properly, so we can be shure that the usb-device works correct.
i tried via mandriva control center but the partitionmanager crashes at startup...
i tried the mount-command i got from a internet-resource but my system doesn't reckogn option -t: mount -t vfat /dev/sdaX /mnt/wherever
I looked in kdiskfree if the usb-stick is occuring, where i could mount, but it isn't occuring here.
"fdisk /dev/sda" and then "p" shows me:
Platte /dev/sda: 100 MByte, 100663296 Byte
64 Köpfe, 32 Sektoren/Spuren, 96 Zylinder
Einheiten = Zylinder von 2048 × 512 = 1048576 Bytes
Gerät boot. Anfang Ende Blöcke Id System
/dev/sda1 * 1 96 98096 6 FAT16
Partition 1 hat unterschiedliche phys./log. Enden:
phys=(94, 63, 32) logisch=(95, 51, 32)
but at least the size is wrong. (It is a 250MB device)
Then i tried via
https://localhost:10000/mount/edit_mount.cgi?newdev=%2Fdev%2Fsdb1&newdir=%2Fmnt%2FSWISSMEMORY&type=msdos
and, yes, i was able to mount, now there is shown "?" in Filesystemtype and webmin said: Failed to save mount : Unsupported file or mode >> at main::linux-lib.pl line 191
