Jennifer had spent her first few days on Crell doing something that the past few years hadn't allowed much of: sleeping. While it sounded like a boring existance to some, the ability to lie down and have a snooze whenever she wanted was something she had desperately missed. Thus, it was a much more well-rested, both physically and mentally, individual who stepped out of her rented living space into the foresty shade of Crewel. For once, she felt like she had not only a purpose, but some control over that purpose.
Just an hour ago, she had spent some time browsing through SNN's classified advertisements, trying to find a way to do something while she was there. It wasn't that she needed the money, per se, as her accounts were well-padded. She just needed something to do...something to inspire her, perhaps. Unfortunately, the best she had been able to find was a waitressing position at some Cafe de Clieu. There wasn't even any contact information there. While that might have stopped her before, it wasn't going to stop her now.
She had run a brush through her medium-length brown hair, pulling it back into a loose ponytail that started high on her skull. While she had been somewhat disappointed to have to leave the cozy confines of her pajamas, she had dressed neatly and comfortably in a khaki skirt and a short-sleeved brown peasant blouse. A pair of sensible brown sandals and an pink-and-brown-toned cardigan draped over her arm (for when she got cold) had completed the look.
Shaking her head lightly to bring her thoughts back to the present, she took a steading breath and gave herself the mental kick in the rear that this was the start of the rest of her lif...no, it wasn't. She gave herself another kick for thinking that way. It was just an inquiry at the newspaper office about any other jobs available or, if there was no luck there, the contact information for the restaurant.
She made her way to the SNN office, stopping about half-way there to pull her cardigan on and straighten her blouse appropriately. Soon enough, though, she was wandering into the office. For all the self-talk that had gone into convincing herself to make the trip, it was taking about a hundred times as much to actually go through with it. She chewed on her lower lip silently as she looked for someone who might be able to help her.
