1) The Android's Dream
John Scalzi

The introduction is certainly odd, but once you get past that, the content of the book is enjoyable. Takk, the alien (Nagch) is fairly interesting. His adulthood journey to experience negative aspects of the universe (Ftruu) is somewhat compelling. The evil he commits places his actions in a different light. Since John Scalzi is from Ohio, I wonder if he got the idea from the Amish practice of Rumspringa.

There are so many problems with this book. I forced myself to finish it, but it was far from a pleasant experience. Cory Doctorow has decent writing, but horrible content and stories. The name drops of software were particularly annoying. Don't recommend this to anyone.
