The Sunguard was a former Blood Elven organization of both skillful warriors and powerful magi, tasked to oversee, protect and harness the powers of the Sunwell. They served as one of the many divisions that guarded the Sunwell Plateau in Quel'danas and for a time, was one of the most prominent Blood Elven guard divisions. Composed mainly of the High Elven magisters and battle magi, some who later became known as spellbreakers.

The army was lead by High Executor Varthres Skyember, one of Anasterian's personal favored battle magi and a highly skilled warrior of Quel'thalas. He, along with all of his troops, did a good job with warding off any unwanted foes from the Sunwell up until that one faithful day for all High Elves. During the third war, the Sunwell was destroyed, and most of the Sunguard - killed. Their commander, along with most of the troops followed their prince to Outland and the group was eventually disbanded.

The Sunwell was destroyed and it rendered the existence of wardens such as the Sunguard obsolete. Though with the betrayal of Kael'thas and the re-ignition of the Sin'dorei's beloved Sunwell, protection over the Sunwell was once more established. The Sungard had been forgotten in the sands of time, as their former leader had betrayed his own people and fought alongside Kael'thas against the Sin'dorei.

Though it was this betrayal that inspired one of Varthres' lieutenants named Varen'thas Sunraiser to reignite the group once more. Although Kael was defeated and his demonic minions - banished to Outland, Quel'danas and the entirety of the Blood Elves' kingdom had much work to be done before it can be cosidered reclaimed. The newly assembled Sunguard has been re-created for just that task, to assure the prosperation and successful future of the Blood Elves, as well as to protect all of its citizens from any harm.

The Sunguard's new goals would initially be focused on the isle of Quel'danas, to both give Blood Elven roleplayers some incentive to stay on their characters and actually develop them, instead of using them as just event alts. The guild will progress as any character would and will have its own storyline, which will revolve around cooperating with the Shattered Sun and trying to rid the isle of the remnants of the Sunblade - Kael's most elite troops situated in Quel'danas.

That storyline will be portrayed in the form of a few events, but will also evolve as an actual story would. It will have plot twists and the players' actions will influence the way the story goes. In short, it will be interactive and not tunnel-visioned. As the guild moves, so will its aim. Soon, more things will come in our crosshairs and there will be much more expansive storylines to roleplay in.

We will not hold applications to accept members in our folds. I personally consider that a very detrimental and obsolete metod. Instead, you will have to prove your loyalty to the guild via roleplay, as it should be. The more you actually play and develop your character, the more he or she will excell in the guild. And although we won't be using apps, we will be strict with who we accept. We will require:

At least average or above-so knowledge of Blood Elven history and behavior.
Knowledge of how Blood Elves operate, their hierarchy and their government.
Knowledge of your character's class, what they are and aren't capable of.
Additionally, given your character's class, knowledge of where they would stand in the Sin'dorei hierarchy.
Common sense. This one is determinal.
