I appreciate the time you put into this document. I think we need to have a more careful, analytical conversation about what your department needs and how I can give it to yall rather than just jumping to a new system. I’m putting together a list of factors that you bring up in your document combined with a list of factors that are important to IT. I’m also writing up a few different options to try and quantify how each scenario meets the important factors. In the mean time, I’m going to get Edwin a pc dual booting linux and windows. If, after our conversation we decide to go with an apple solution then we can reassign the pc to another user and buy him an apple. This way we at least have something for him to work on.
I’d like to schedule a meeting with your whole team where we go over a few different scenarios together and figure out which one works best for everyone.
