[00:10] <jeb> wazup
[00:10] <jeb> ?
[00:11] <metalmine> oh hi :) ok well I just had a few questions and suggestions :)
[00:11] <metalmine> and I was wondering
[00:12] <metalmine> if you could have a section on minecraft.net that lets users submit the mods and maps
[00:12] <metalmine> because the current situation right now with
[00:12] <metalmine> user created content is that they are not organized at all
[00:13] <metalmine> And I have started a project to get it organized but I believe that if you guys do it, then it would be more useful for the community,
[00:13] <jeb> are you talking about minecraft?
[00:13] <metalmine> we're currently writing programs that gets the information and organize it
[00:13] <metalmine> yes
[00:13] <jeb> well that is a part of the mod api
[00:14] <jeb> it will come later
[00:14] <metalmine> ah
[00:14] <metalmine> ok
[00:14] <metalmine> wait so
[00:14] <metalmine> there will be an actual user interface with the mod api?
[00:17] <jeb> that's the plan
[00:17] <metalmine> interesting.
[00:18] <metalmine> Will there be a way for users to be able to distribute other content in that interface as well?
[00:18] <metalmine> such as custom maps, seed sharing, LP , movies, and such?
[00:28] <metalmine> if you don't, we can help.
[00:28] <metalmine> because it's already under development. we just need the community to start submitting to get it going.
[00:30] <metalmine> also, will everyone have an actual profile page?
[00:31] <metalmine> for the website.
[00:31] <jeb> well i don't think you should cancel it
[00:31] <jeb> because the mod api is going to take a long time to implement
[00:31] <metalmine> any ETAs? also our list is at http://bit.ly/UPDATE_SPREADSHEET
[00:32] <metalmine> currently under work and being updated manually until our program that will be auto updating it comes along
[00:33] <jeb> the eta is 2012
[00:34] <metalmine> hahaha
[00:34] <metalmine> i like that
[00:35] <metalmine> so what do you think of what we've done so far with the database. (we're using google docs becuase it has a easy to use API )
[00:50] <metalmine> (can you add powered pistons to the game btw? ones that will push entities at high speeds or change blocks into entity blocks and change back to blocks once they make contact)
[00:50] <metalmine> because since the piston mod this has been a lacking feature...
[00:51] <jeb> no
[00:53] <metalmine> oh well :3
[00:54] <metalmine> hahaha
[00:55] <metalmine> oh and good job with the jungle biome. do you have any other biomes in mind to be added?
[00:56] <metalmine> (I apologize for the surplus of questions, I don't get too many chances to speak with the head of Minecraft Development everyday)
[01:01] <metalmine> O-O default height limit change
[01:01] <metalmine> this reminds me of a huge question that has received a lot of complaints
[01:02] <metalmine> will you be putting in a better system of memory management on single player worlds and servers
[01:04] <metalmine> because as of right now, the server's experiencing some memory issues and as a 4th year student in comp sci noted about the server "Notch has managed to get past the garbage collectors that Java has in place causing it to run out of memory"
[01:21] <SecretRevelation> anyway. Thank you for your time today. :)
[01:22] <SecretRevelation> Cya :)
