Irc Name: elven
Alternate nicks: elven`away & Will
How long have you used SeersIRC? Been using it for coming up to two months now, I used to be pretty active on it a while ago, and in total, I've been using IRC for ~4 years
Have you ever been/are you still a HelpOp/IRCop on any other networks? (If yes, please list the Network along with the position) Nope.
What sort of experience do you have in this area? I'm currently a council member of 'THE', and we recently moved to SeersIRC from another network. In the transition I set up the IRC channel for them, and am currently the owner of it, and helping them to keep order in the channel. As a sideline of this, I also run #theprivate and am currently working on partly scripting some control of that channel.
In the past, I usually am given the responsibilty of either running or helping to run channels for clans. In doing this, I need to set levels (/cs set # levels, not /cs access) and chmodes, among other things.
So due to my past experiences, and the amount of time that I have used IRC, I believe I am fairly competent in the use of IRC and to work my way around things.
What timezone are you from? GMT
How active are you on SeersIRC? I'm usually online when I'm not working, but I am offline most nights at around 11:30pm GMT
Do you run any channels of your own? (If yes, list them) #theclan and #theprivate on SeersIRC, and #elven on SwiftIRC.
What are your reasons for applying? I wish to apply for HelpOp as I think I am knowledgable of IRC, and in the areas of which I may not be, I am willing to learn. Also, I am currently helping people with the use of IRC in the channels I am in, so I see no problem in helping others at the same time, and am willing to do so.
I am also readily available on IRC as I mostly always online. Because of this, if I am not able to help the person straight away, a /query can be left so I can contact them when I am back.
Any other important information you think we should know about you: I think I've about said all I need to ;s
Also, please include the name of the HalfOp/HelpOp from which you got a reference: Bez

(14th|20:31:18) <elven> :p
(14th|20:31:20) <Chris> You have time to do it?
(14th|20:31:28) <elven> Yeah
(14th|20:31:52) <Chris> Okay, before we start, aliases are not allowed in the test or in #Help. Ever
(14th|20:32:09) <elven> I learnt that from a while ago :$
(14th|20:32:35) <Chris> okay Ready? :P
(14th|20:32:42) <elven> yup
(14th|20:33:36) <Chris> here goes:
(14th|20:33:37) <Chris> How do I register a nick?
(14th|20:33:53) <elven> /ns register pass email
(14th|20:34:10) <elven> And then check email, and paste in the /ns confirm code
(14th|20:34:34) <Chris> How do I request a vHost?
(14th|20:34:51) <elven> With /hs request vhost@goes.here
(14th|20:34:59) <elven> And then /hs on when it gets accepted
(14th|20:35:10) <Chris> if it gets accepted :P >.<
(14th|20:35:12) <Chris> How do I register a channel?
(14th|20:35:33) <elven> With /cs register #channel pass description of what the channel is
(14th|20:35:59) <Chris> How do I get a service bot in my channel?
(14th|20:36:21) <elven> Are you presuming they know which service bot they want?
(14th|20:36:34) <Chris> Nope
(14th|20:36:37) <elven> If not then they can select from /bs botlist
(14th|20:36:39) <Chris> but by all means add extra
(14th|20:36:49) <elven> And then assign it with /bs assign #channel bot
(14th|20:37:09) <Chris> Every user we treat as if they don't know anything to do with IRC
(14th|20:37:14) <Chris> it's always best that way
(14th|20:37:20) <Chris> What stat bots are there? and how would I get one in my channel?
(14th|20:37:24) <elven> Oki then, understood
(14th|20:37:45) <elven> RuneScape stats bots, or StatServ?
(14th|20:38:12) <Chris> runescript
(14th|20:38:43) <elven> Well, RuneScript is the only one I use, but I also know of GrandExchange
(14th|20:38:58) <elven> And to get them into the channel, it's /invite bot #channel
(14th|20:39:45) <Chris> To find out what bots there are join #Bots
(14th|20:40:18) <elven> Mk then
(14th|20:40:58) <Chris> How would I give someone auto-op?
(14th|20:41:17) <elven> With /cs access #channel add nick 5
(14th|20:41:33) <elven> Unless you want them to have admin, which is 10
(14th|20:41:54) <elven> However, they'd need to ID each time to get op
(14th|20:42:02) <Chris> If someone was join/part flooding my channel, how would I stop them?
(14th|20:43:00) <elven> You could either place a ban on them, or set /mode #channel +j joins:secs
(14th|20:43:36) <elven> Or even +i, but that would prevent others from joining too
(14th|20:43:56) <Chris> I'm being notice spammed, how can I stop him? mIRC and swiftswitch/swiftkit
(14th|20:45:47) <elven> You /whois the user, grab their hostmask, and place an ignore on them with /ignore hostmask. Or right-click their name and click ignore
(14th|20:46:25) <Chris> My friend banned me from my channel, how do I get back in?
(14th|20:46:42) <elven> Do they have access in that channel?
(14th|20:47:02) <elven> If so, then /cs unban #channel
(14th|20:47:27) <elven> If not, then they'd need to ask someone in the channel with +h and over to unban them
(14th|20:47:43) <Chris> My friend banned me from my channel, how do I get back in?
(14th|20:47:44) <Chris> :p
(14th|20:47:48) <Chris> But goodjob
(14th|20:47:57) <elven> >_<
(14th|20:47:57) <Chris> I set mode +i and then parted, how do I get back in?
(14th|20:48:16) <elven> With /cs invite #channel
(14th|20:50:44) <Chris> How do I auto voice all unregistered user and registered?
(14th|20:51:10) <elven> Waitt
(14th|20:51:15) <elven> I've gone wrong >_<
(14th|20:51:24) <Chris> No you haven't

(14th|20:51:57) <Chris> :P
(14th|20:52:02) <Chris> I only just wrote it there..
(14th|20:52:28) <elven> I thought it was /cs levels #channel set autovoice to voice all users that join the channel
(14th|20:52:35) <elven> *0
(14th|20:52:47) <Chris> Nah, 0 is Registered and -1 is Unregistered and Registered
(14th|20:52:48) <Chris> :P
(14th|20:52:54) <Chris> Next question
(14th|20:52:56) <Chris> How do I kick all unregistered users from my channel?
(14th|20:53:24) <elven> With /mode #channel +R
(14th|20:53:32) <elven> O hold on
(14th|20:53:40) <elven> That will just not let them join :$
(14th|20:54:03) <Chris> :p
(14th|20:54:37) <elven> I'm not sure :$
(14th|20:55:04) <Chris> okay it's /cs enforce #Channel +R
(14th|20:55:12) <Chris> Not advisable to use it
(14th|20:55:17) <elven> Well, I was close lol
(14th|20:55:17) <Chris> it'll kick everyone unregistered
(14th|20:55:18) <Chris> :P
(14th|20:55:41) <Chris> How do I ban everyone in #Chan1 from joining #Chan2?
(14th|20:56:05) <elven> With /mode #channel1 +b ~c:#channel2
(14th|20:56:33) <Chris> Okay that'll do for now :)
(14th|20:56:36) <Chris> Well done
(14th|20:56:40) <elven> Excellent :0
