Yes, that C code was mostly written by Carnevil with smaller changes from
Rivecoder and myself. It's already based on the code from 97c2 and I can't say
if Carn wrote the 97c2 huffman code from scratch or got it from somewhere. I'd
say it's should be fine if you include the code in a project using the license
you posted (just don't try to relicense it). If you totally want to be on the
safe side, you can wait a little though for Skulltag's open source release
(that is very likely to happen and very likely to happen soon, but don't spread
the word yet ;)). It includes the code and will have a clear license attached.
