Goose has withdrawn from IEM Kiev
After a surprising performance that nobody expected from US team A Picture of Goose, where they won a spot in IEM Kiev tournament and all drama regarding financial situation, sadly, they have withdrawn their participation in the event. Contrary to everyone's belief they might not collect the funds required to go, the reasons for not going were very different. On Monday, Atlanta, captain on Goose, posted on reddit that Goose is not going to IEM Kiev because of complications in travel and priorities. To be more detailed, Mandatorycloud's and Lemongod's parents didn't allow them to go due to being paranoid.

How did Goose do in the qualifier?
Before the IEM qualifiers not many people even knew the name of Goose, even though dignitas knocked them to the lower bracket. At lower bracket of final qualifier they managed to rock the competitive League of Legends scene by beating many great teams and using what was later called "kill lane". Their most spectacular match was the round one of final IEM Kiev qualifier against Epik gaming, where they ran Leona and Jarvan at bottom lane which caught EG off-guard and caused them lose any chance of going to Kiev. After beating EG in best of three matches (2-1) at the first round of lower bracket they moved on to defeat Curse gaming (2-1 again) and meet their final barrier V8 who they also beat in 2-1.

When did the situation get worse?
Right after the qualifier, Goose already started to doubt about them going to Kiev, duo to financial issues. Their desire to go did overcome the financial crisis, ever since they qualified Goose started streaming many solo q games, go4lol tournaments as well as scrims with other teams. Our community also decided to help, some people donated money just to see Goose in the Kiev qualifier, exact numbers how much money people donated were not released. After they overcame their financial problems, more and more doubts came about some players getting the permissions from parents, as already stated above, Lemongod's and Mandatorycloud's parents refused to let them go aside from all the effort Goose put into participating.
What is going to happen to the free spot?
Well, at this time there are two contenders for the IEM spot. Those two contenders are Counter Logic Gaming and Curse Gaming. Few days after CLG found out that they might get offered to go, HotShotGG (Team owner and captain) and Saintvicious openly said on their streams that CLG are very sceptical about whether it is worth it to go financially wise. CLG have already secured the place in World Championship, which will be held in Hanover, Germany at March 06th - 10th. The situation for Curse is a bit more difficult, they are placed 12th in ESL rankings, which is the last spot to qualify for the World Championship. Latest Curse gaming facebook post also says Curse is going to Kiev, which would mean CLG have refused their invitation and that Curse Gaming has guaranteed themselves a spot in Hanover.
