Why Asia?
- Truman Doctrine of 1947 expressed this change in US policy, the change in the containment policy. To support the countries that wanted to be free, eg freedom of peace.
- China created their own communism regime under the rule of Mao Zedong.
- America already being criticised, wanted to stop communism spreading.
