Whatever Happened to Dave Sim?
**************

1)
First off, could you tell us a bit about what you’ve been doing lately?

2)
What made you want to become a cartoonist? Also, do you have any formal training as an artist?

3)
Cerebus.tv, would you mind telling us what the deal is with that?

4)
What made you choose the path of independent publishing? Also, did you have some kind of business experience before you started out, or is everything self-taught?

5)
One thing that often appears to be lacking in indie comics is quality control. Do you have someone to help with the editing process, someone who’s looking over your stuff to make sure it’s of a certain standard before it hits the press, or is it pretty much just your own judgement at work?

6)
In our age, there are suddenly many new ways to publish material - have you considered switching to a more “modern” platform such as download only or “free to free to read, hardcopies for sale” a la Cat and Girl? Do you have any thoughts on Creative Commons?

7)
Speaking of economy, would you care telling a bit about how much of your revenue is from actually selling the comics and how much comes from original art, lithography, etc.?

8)
I think it’s safe to say that virtually all art is based on art that came before it. But I also think you’d agree there is such a thing as plagiarism - have you ever felt like you were getting close to the latter with some of the recreations you have in Glamourpuss? Or do you feel like you’re more doing education? Please tell us where you think the line is drawn, so to speak.

9)
What do you strive to accomplish with your comics? In which ways, if any, do you wish to influence the reader?
