19:57	BeyRevRa	hey
19:57	BeyRevRa	zacherys told me you have promise as a mage/psion or whatever you are
19:58	BeyRevRa	is that true or false, do you have an opinion on that
19:58	TashRikil	that is true.
19:59	BeyRevRa	ok
19:59	TashRikil	i think i could, if i had an appropriate practice, and things to learn that interested me.
19:59	BeyRevRa	what do you do I'm just wondering, psi or magick or something else I haven't heard of
20:00	TashRikil	i'm a bit of a wild talent. i dont use any of the terminology you will commonly find in the oec.
20:00	BeyRevRa	ok
20:00	TashRikil	and you are?
20:00	BeyRevRa	what have you accomplished with magick?
20:01	BeyRevRa	nobody important, just an occultist
20:01	TashRikil	i havent accomplished anything using forces outside myself
20:01	TashRikil	if that is what you mean by magick
20:02	TashRikil	nobody listens to me. success is elusive at best. i dont really reach out to the dark side at all.
20:02	BeyRevRa	ok
20:02	BeyRevRa	i mean have you experienced results in other words
20:03	BeyRevRa	and what kind if so
20:03	TashRikil	well, i am able to influence traffic patterns, with visual contact
20:04	TashRikil	i can be quite convincing, when i am not trying so hard, usually within the context that my idea is a little distasteful, but inevitable
20:05	TashRikil	i can brawl on here effectively, if that counts. to my mind it doesnt. you just have to influence others' perceptions
20:06	TashRikil	i seem to influence the chance of freak things happening wherever i go, usually bad luck.
20:06	BeyRevRa	lol
20:06	BeyRevRa	so do you have much success with mind control
20:06	TashRikil	and i can speak with astral beings. including dead people.
20:07	TashRikil	no. no i do not.
20:08	BeyRevRa	you said you can be quite convincing, i thought you meant mind control by that
20:08	BeyRevRa	what did you mean
20:08	TashRikil	mind control is not reprogramming someone else's computer ok?
20:09	TashRikil	you cannot violate their ability to think for themselves. not must not, CAN not.
20:09	TashRikil	what you can do is set triggers, little waypoints, usually hinged on some sort of reason, that direct their thoughts in certain directions. if you know the probable outcomes it can be very useful
20:11	BeyRevRa	the easiest counter to that arguement is television advertisement influencing people's beliefs, values and opinions about products, issues and people
20:11	TashRikil	creating little islands of understanding, even if wrong, can influence people to think in a certain way, or at least down certain paths
20:11	TashRikil	no, in fact. television is indeed the easiest proof of that pudding.
20:12	BeyRevRa	pudding?
20:12	TashRikil	for instance the little words we have in our head about coke, and pepsi. would you even consider a third party soda? no, probably not, because we think these are "better" for some reason
20:13	BeyRevRa	what is your point though
20:13	BeyRevRa	that mind control isn't possible?
20:13	TashRikil	most of america's populace is brainwashed by a bogus educational system
20:13	TashRikil	my point is just that people cannot be controlled like robots. they can be influenced instead. and the outcome is almost never completely desirable to the influencer.
20:14	TashRikil	and also, if they realize what was done to them, they can break out.
20:14	BeyRevRa	you must have had a bad experience because my experience is the exact opposite of what you're telling me
20:14	BeyRevRa	did you have a bad experience?
20:14	TashRikil	oh. you think you can walk on people's minds?
20:14	BeyRevRa	yes
20:14	TashRikil	i have had many bad experiences. did i mention my luck?
20:14	BeyRevRa	yes go on
20:15	TashRikil	no.
20:15	BeyRevRa	i'm not judging you I just want to know what you know
20:15	TashRikil	of course you do, instead of sharing you are taking.
20:15	TashRikil	so no.
20:16	BeyRevRa	well you already told me you didn't have much success with mind control, then you're telling me how it works which is contrary to what I have experienced
20:16	BeyRevRa	so what do you want me to say?
20:16	BeyRevRa	I'm just asking you
20:16	TashRikil	offer me something i can work with then.
20:16	BeyRevRa	hmm, ok
20:17	BeyRevRa	three years ago when I was taking prerequesite courses in college I had to take a speech class
20:17	BeyRevRa	I wasn't good at public speaking at the time and I was very nervous to get in front of people and I was having a hard time creating the speech and remembering what I had to say, I was extremely stressed out and nervous about it because I didn't want to fail, that class was important to me
20:18	BeyRevRa	to make matters worse, I had the hardest teacher who expected us to look at the audience, not our notes
20:18	BeyRevRa	she expected every detail to be professional, down to body language like hand movements, and tone of voice
20:18	BeyRevRa	she was a real bitch in other words
20:18	BeyRevRa	good teacher, but too strict
20:18	TashRikil	ok
20:19	BeyRevRa	well the past one or two speeches, we all did so bad
20:19	BeyRevRa	she would criticize every detail when we finished right there in front of everyone
20:19	BeyRevRa	even the best speakers would get a grade of 75 or 80 maximum
20:19	BeyRevRa	and she had so many bad things to say
20:19	BeyRevRa	so here I was stressed out and I just got tired of all the bullshit
20:19	BeyRevRa	so I created a specific spell to help me with the speech
20:20	BeyRevRa	this speech had 3 - 6 specific intentions that had to be done exactly as I said, and I was just so mad/stressed I didn't think about it too much after making it, I guess I was stressed out so much I couldn't even think about it
20:20	BeyRevRa	So the conditions were this
20:21	BeyRevRa	1. I will give a good speech and I will get an A (I thought this was impossible because like I said, she was way too strict and I'm not a good speaker, the highest grades in the class were like C+)
20:21	TashRikil	thats two intentions.
20:21	BeyRevRa	2. I'm too nervous about this for it to be a waste of time, everyone will pay close attention to me and learn everything I have to say
20:22	BeyRevRa	I figured, why give a speech if nobody cares and doesn't listen to what I'm saying?
20:22	BeyRevRa	3. It will be so educational, people will actually thank me and tell me how much they learned from my speech
20:22	BeyRevRa	4. I will be completely calm, comfortable and organized, and I will not get nervous when I'm up there
20:23	BeyRevRa	5. (not this one I was just bullshitting I knew for sure this one wouldn't happen) My speech will be so good, everyone will give me a round of applause
20:23	BeyRevRa	in that class we don't applaud after a speech, we just wait for the teacher to criticize
20:24	BeyRevRa	so anyway I went into class and just sat there, one person told me "how are you so calm? aren't you nervous?" also I felt focused and calm so much so that the teacher said afterwords "just don't lean on the podium next time, it makes you look too relaxed"
20:24	BeyRevRa	I ended up getting not only an A, put a 100, a perfect score which was unheard of in that class, especially for me
20:24	TashRikil	hmmm alright. let me ask you something
20:25	BeyRevRa	the teacher herself specifically told me "I learned so much I found myself taking down notes during your speech, it was very educational"
20:25	BeyRevRa	And when criticizing my speech, she said "Wow.... just wow, I have nothing bad to say about it, everyone give him a round of applause"
20:25	BeyRevRa	and they did
20:25	TashRikil	is there any reason i should avoid drinking the white russian i have just fixed>
20:25	BeyRevRa	Not really unless you have a history of liver or kidney disease
20:25	BeyRevRa	sounds like a good idea
20:26	BeyRevRa	Alright, so I gave you something to work with
20:26	BeyRevRa	now will you give me a little something to work with?
20:26	TashRikil	if you intend to teach me something tonight i probably should not drink it.
20:28	TashRikil	very well. influencing traffic is simple. if you understand that most people already drive in a bit of a zen trance and it only takes a little nudge mentally, essentially you only have to think it at them real hard, to move faster. but you have to be able to see them, and sense them, which is not always available.
20:29	BeyRevRa	what about the bad luck
20:29	TashRikil	so if i get stuck behind a truck or at the bottom of a hill i cannot see over, traffic clogs again. and loosens up the moment i can see down the highway. just a little, gentle nudge to step on the gas
20:30	TashRikil	i honestly do not know why i am so unlucky. sometimes i think it is a trade. my general unluck for my ability to influence people when it really counts. except that isnt true either.
20:30	BeyRevRa	maybe its a curse
20:30	TashRikil	might well be. but if it is, i'm not aware of it, let alone how to counter it.
20:31	BeyRevRa	what religion are you
20:31	TashRikil	good question. i have no idea.
20:32	TashRikil	used to be christian. never hung out with the society much, couldnt connect to the people.
20:32	BeyRevRa	did you believe the gospel and do you still believe it
20:32	TashRikil	i know the bible, or perhaps i remember it, better than anyone you have met, most likely
20:32	BeyRevRa	I'm just seeing if there is a pattern between curses and religions
20:34	BeyRevRa	the bible talks about generational curses, "sins of our fathers" as it were
20:34	TashRikil	i believe it to the point where i understand its context, and choose to apply it where it is most useful, and choose to ignore it when its context is exceeded, or when hundreds of stupid little rules would make rational behavior impossible
20:34	BeyRevRa	generations of children being punished for the sins of their parents
20:35	BeyRevRa	alright so you aren't christian then
20:35	TashRikil	no. every man is responsible for his own tablet. nobody else's. i have always firmly believed that
20:35	TashRikil	you ever read the epistles?
20:35	BeyRevRa	yes
20:35	TashRikil	so you're aware that Paul was writing into specific situations, expanding the context?
20:36	TashRikil	but that not every guideline was meant to be followed ad infinitum?
20:37	TashRikil	or maybe you're not.
20:37	BeyRevRa	did you have any other success with mind control
20:37	TashRikil	when i was an ardent fundamentalist i converted a vampire and dragon or two. does that count?
20:38	BeyRevRa	you converted mythological creatures?
20:38	TashRikil	i converted otherkin.
20:38	BeyRevRa	oh humans
20:38	TashRikil	yes, humans. read that again. i. converted. otherkin.
20:39	BeyRevRa	good
20:39	TashRikil	not so much.
20:39	TashRikil	but... things i believe in are very compelling, regardless of whether they are right or wrong.
20:41	TashRikil	i sat and preached in a vampire room for years. and they never once banned me. though i saw others being banned right and left.
20:41	TashRikil	i was repulsive to them. but i was eh... kinda right.
20:42	TashRikil	and eventually the weakest willed after a few years decided to rediscover the religion of her childhood. in large part due to me working like a demon on making certain things... more workable in her context.
20:43	TashRikil	is that mind control? i have no idea. but it stands out as one of the more improbable things i have ever done.
20:43	BeyRevRa	technically yes but not the kind I was talking about
20:44	TashRikil	no. certainly not the kind you were talking about. the kind i was talking about.
