My Seven point education policy
There should be one common language to study in all four provinces, let it be Urdu, English or Spanish, it doesn’t matter but there should be unification at least in the case of language. Once a guy game to me and asked about “Tuka’aatey”, I was wondering what it is, later I when I searched, I found out it to be Intersection in mathematics.
There should be one education system all over the Pakistan. There must be no classification in schools on grounds of standards. Education must not be for sale but for the betterment of country. Let raise the standard of government colleges and schools to the standard of Cambridge system. Let the child of a farmer and fuedal study in the same school. So when there will be no discrimination between poor and rich, there will be talent grooming among children of both.
There should be one board system through out the country; it should not be divided in different parts like Federal Board, Gujranwala Board or Rawalpindi Board. It should be one unit. This would refine the evaluation system for students through out the country. Nobody will have excuses like Federal Board is difficult, Gujranwala board is easy to clear. This will also polish the quality of educational program.
It is a common phrase in our country that a person, who can do nothing, becomes a teacher, and I don’t find it wrong by anyway. First of all, a person should be a teacher by will. When teachers will be passionate to teach, students will be passionate to study. It’s against ethics to take teaching as a profession. It’s a moral obligation for everyone. An English teacher must not teach chemistry, teacher must teach the subject in which he has specialized.
There should be inspection body for teachers, who test them around the year to see if they are capable of teaching or not. Through out my life, I have seen teachers who used come in class to kill their time. If you won’t get good teachers, you won’t excel in any aspect of life.
I remember the quote of Quaid e Azam in first session of National Assembly, He said “We must root out the poison of corruption and nepotism”, probably he was aware of the fact that this country will be ruined by both devilish acts. Favoritism and nepotism is one major problem in education. This not only ruins the life of victims but also brings incompetent and non-deserving people at the executive level, which ultimately damages the prestige of the nation and most often they become our leaders.
There must be one career counseling department in every school which should guide the students about their career. Every child cannot become engineer or doctor, some are born leaders, some are born artists, when an artist is forced to study engineering, he faints in his field, thus causing problem to himself and his family. We should not force the children to join the field where we think, he can earn the most but in fact children should be encouraged to join the field that amuses him because the work done with joy and passion brings out maximum output.
