Dearest ReverseHypertrophy, you're making me look stupid here. I don't even know what that term means. I've never heard it before now. Could you use it in another sentence for me, so I can get the meaning from context?

Dear Coach Rippetoe,
Which term? I am confused by what you say in the above paragraph.

You're right, I don't know about any of these advanced methods. So, exactly how many average athletes with an average SVJ of 24" have you taken past the mundane tedium of 40"? Can we please see just one video of just one of your athletes employing these advanced Russian methods to generate these 40+% improvements?
I don't specialize in SVJ, but I can show you two athletes who have gone from sub 30" RVJ to over 40" RVJ, and one athlete who went from 30.5" SVJ on jumpmat to 37.1" on jumpmat. If you so desire to see such footage, I shall provide it happily. Unfortunately I only work with one of these athletes long term, as the other two are forced to train under other coaches. Give me a few days Coach Rippetoe, as I have to retrieve some footage from a hard drive that is based far from my whereabouts.

Why, you're absolutely right! Genetics are no real limitation at all. How cruel of me to single-handedly stifle the development of the elite potential of hundreds of thousands of short, white, slow NBA players with my defeatist rhetoric.
You think guys that like to type this much are through in only 4o posts?
'
Coach Rippetoe, with all due respect, your defeatist attitude is part of the problem as to why "ungifted whites" or ungifted athletes in general tend to get discouraged in events such as basketball & sprinting/high jump. Many of these athletes find your post and get demotivated & discouraged, instead of motivated & inspired.
Sincerely,
RH.
