The United States Marshal Service is one of the oldest federal law enforcement agency. The USMS is the enforcement arm of the federal courts.
Federal Marshals are serving the country since 1789.

Judicial Security
Protecting federal judges, attorneys and jurors is one of the main mission of the U.S. Marshals. They are employing all their professionalism during highly sensitive trials throughout the nation.
Witness Protection Bureau
The U.S. Marshals ensures the safety of witnesses, who risk their lives testifying for the government in cases involving organized crime and other significant criminal activities.
Seeking Fugitives
The U.S. Marshals is the federal government’s primary agency for conducting fugitive investigations. The USMS is the premier agency to apprehend foreign fugitives believed to be in the United States, and it is the agency responsible for locating and extraditing American fugitives, who flee to foreign countries.
Serving Warrants
Along with other law enforcement agencies, such as local police departments and investigative bureaus, the USMS is serving bench and arrest warrants.
Prisoner Transport
The Marshals are required to transport prisoners to a specific area if they are ordered by a federal judge. They can get help from other LEOs if needed as it is a general duty.
Mapping Criminal Organizations
When they do not have any orders from a federal judge, U.S. Marshals are mapping criminal organizations, this being having a clear and well-made map presenting every areas of a specific location, along with all its specifications.
Interested in joining?
In order to join the U.S. Marshals, you must have experience in any other law enforcement agency such as the army, local police departments, federal bureau of investigations, etc. Then you may send your resume to the nearest field office.
