Hello, I would like to introduce myself , my name is Kevin Gallo, I came across your job posting for a PHP programmer on craigslist . I would like to explore this opportunity , I believe I would make an excellent candidate for the position.
I have been a web developer for 2-3 years working with the LAMP stack. I have experience coding PHP from the ground up, as well as utilizing frameworks and packages, from open source shopping carts to MVC frameworks.
My database experience has been mainly with MySQL, and I understand table structure, normalization, and field type differences. I have experience writing all types of queries, from simple selects to joins from multiple tables, both from scratch and using ZendDB.
Additionally, I am great with html/css, and know the importance of writing tableless layouts that validate, as well as solving cross browser issues. I’ve worked with Javascript and jQuery, and know how to work with the DOM and selectors. I am also familiar with SVN and the linux shell.
I am very eager to land this position which will provide me with the projects needed to continue to refine my skills and help me grow to a next level developer. I enjoy a good challenge where I must research to solve problems. I use resources such as php.net and stackoverflow to find the latest and greatest solutions and coding standards. Given the opportunity, I will work very hard to make sure every task that I am given is done the best way possible. PHP programming is more than a job to me it is also a hobby that I am passionate about. I look forward in using my passion in this next position.
