Okay I've got the same error that you were getting in your VM now that I'm attempting to build on an x86 architecture. The Makefile doesn't have a SPARC option in the architecture listing. However, this website seems to indicate that SPARC is supported. http://udt.sourceforge.net/doc/udt-tutorial.ppt
 
However when I try to build using the arch=SPARC it doesn't recognize it.
