A fleet of astronauts are dispatched on a mission to uncover the secrets of the dark side of the moon. As they spend time investigating, they realize that they are not alone. They come across tracks from a type of unknown species that are not like any kind of creature known to man. The crew realizes that the extraterrestrial life is capable of more than they thought as they find clues of planned attacks of other space missions. As one of the astronauts is exploring the surface of the moon, a parasite gets into his suite and burrows underneath his skin. Soon after, unexpected things start happening to him and his personality begins to change.
When everybody is sleeping, he leaves out onto the surface of the moon never to be seen again. His team goes out looking for him the next day but give up after a couple hours as they are running low on oxygen. Upon return back to the shuttle, the electrical system was not working and they were to be abandoned on the moon without any communication back to earth.
Apollo 18 was a real twist to the condescending thought that there is no as life on the moon. It is one of the best suspense films to come out for awhile as it takes on a roll of horror film that isn't about gore but just the mystery and thrill that is expected from a good horror movie. The scene was absolutely captivating as it actually looked like it was filmed on the moon so it gives it a more realistic feeling and tricks you to think that it could actually be a true story. It shared a lot of qualities as Paranormal Activity for the outer experience of no scientific proof or explanation for what is happening.
The ending was unpredictable as it was the type of movie that puts a twist on it. This movie is a must see as it will make you want to watch it right to the end so you have to find out what will happen. This movie will make your skin crawl! Be sure to watch Apollo 18 online.
