I bought a Scott hybrid on the 16th April (I have the receipt in my car and will double check the date if necessary). The seat wobbles quite badly and moves back and forth freely, thinking I would just be able to tighten it I put the job off until today.
The seat post is stuck in the frame (I have entirely removed the collar), no amount of trying to turn/twist and pull will make it budge. The collar appears to have been lubricated well and the frame is aluminium, so I doubt that there is a corrosion problem.
In addition I have inspected the saddle mount and it appears that the bolt is fully tight, so the seat will wobble until I go and buy another, I feel that this defeats the point of buying a safety-checked recycled bike.
It would be appreciated if you would advise when you could examine the bike and repair as necessary.
