Most of you probably already received this by message, but I figure I will post here as well.
I am stepping down as the organizer for this event. I feel that there are too many roadblocks to this happening for real at PorcFest. I wanted to have quite a few experienced and talented DJ's & to expose the liberty community to good electronic music, and ALSO expose the electronic music community to the ideas of liberty.
In my humble opinion, there were far too many roadblocks put up by the event organization of PorcFest obstructing this event. These roadblocks ranged from very strictly limiting the number of people that could be invited too low to be able make enough money by selling enough tickets to pay the talent, or even more simply to be able to just set the date and time so that the rest of the organization for the PorcFest EDMP could even take place. Also, so that we could set a date and time so that we could acquire sponsors in lieu of ticket sales to make the money to pay the talent that WAS willing to come in from all over the country.
Despite meeting the requests and hurdles put in the path of this event and showing that there is very serious interest in this happening, the PorcFest EDMP has been deemed as entirely unimportant.
It has become impossible to meet my own personal standards for this event which were to evolve it well beyond what it has been in past years. Since I can no longer do that, I am backing down, as I had also made a commitment at the start of organizing this that I did not want to participate in bringing the same old same old to PorcFest again.
However, the event is not dead entirely. Erik Vorhees is stepping up to attempt to make this into something fun for existing PorcFest attendees only... and to try to make something happen with this - despite all the adversity. I hope everyone still interested will help Erik build this into an awesome party.
I'm saddened that I could not bring you the event I wanted to create.
Please help Erik make the best of this and make PorcFest awesome.
