Greetings Citizens,
There have recently been a rather unfortunate number of cases where Citizens have become Vampires in order to “experiment” or achieve some kind of personal or Organization goal, others claim they have been turned against their will. In short, many reasons have been mentioned in order to justify becoming one.
Vampires will not be tolerated in Krondor, we will not make any exceptions for any reason, be it espionage, Order related, or simply you just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. If you have been “ordered” to become one and you do so, it will be considered as your own personal choice and you will be punished for it; You always have the option of alerting the proper authorities or even myself should someone be forcing you to attempt such; there is always a choice. Should you fall victim to a Vampire attack, it is your responsibility to IMMEDIATELY alert us, if you say nothing and are discovered then you have automatically forfeited your right to receive help and will be punished according what is written below.
All those discovered being Vampires will be exiled indefinitely until the new law concerning it takes effect. Once exiled for Vampirism and should you be cured, you will need to reapply for citizenship via the Ambassador but chances of being accepted back into the City are extremely slim and it is likely that a referendum will take place to get Citizen opinions as well. The minimum exile term before being able to reapply will be around 5 years, so I suggest you think carefully before making a move.
Finally, a word to Guilds and Orders.
Divine Orders :
You may do whatever you wish with those of your Order that are not Citizens of Krondor, however, citizens are expected to adhere to City laws FIRST and will not - under ANY condition- be exempted from them. As far as Congress is concerned, any Orders that interfere with City laws will not like the consequences. Other than that, the City will NOT interfere with Order matters and all Order Heads are welcome to approach Congress with their requests at any time.
Guilds :
The City will not interfere with Guild matters unless they affect the City and its laws. Obviously Guild members that break the law will be dealt with by the City, regardless of whatever punishment they have received from their Guild.
Krondor is a safe haven for all citizens, nothing will be allowed to disturb that peace.
