History:
'Willow' was under a year old when her parents, both farmers, and 2 brothers were killed in an earthquake. Their land was taken and divided amongst their neighbors by the ruling Daimyo. Her only surviving sister, 9 years old at the time, had to take up stealing and begging to support the two of them. Within a year, her sister became a street yujo, making her meager wages off of those too poor to afford courtesans. When 'Willow' was only 6, one of her sister's clients, a poor drunkard samurai who was angry from an earlier business deal gone sour, beat her sister unconsience. The sister died within two days taking the knowledge of 'Willow's' true name and age with her. With no skills and nobody to take care of her, 'Willow' was left to wander the streets begging, finding a knack for feigning innocence. A few weeks later she was found by an old courtesan mama, who was not so fooled by the child's act but saw some potential. Becoming a courtesan in training, she was given the name 'Willow' for her strength, grace and beauty. She found she was able to use the perks, such as surplus food and clothing, of her new found position to befriend the street rats. Building a small network of theives, errand runners, yujo and beggers, 'Willow' was able to track down the samurai who had murdered her sister by the time she was 10. Sneaking out of the Courtesan home one night, she laid her trap, knowing the samurai would be leaving his favorite pub soon as he always had, according to 'Willow's' sources. Using every trick she had learned from her tutelage, she lured the samurai into the same old hut that her sister had died. Tricking him into letting her tie him up, and then slit his stomach open with his own blade, watching him die a slow and painful death. For the next 10 years, she proved herself to be a brilliant courtesan, with a natural grace and talent for whatever she put her hand to. She continued to build her network and soon began running an underground intellegence network. She earned her position as top courtesan and by the time she was 30, she already had a courtesan house of her own, taking up the title Mama Willow. Unlike other courtesan houses, Mama Willow built her membership out of orphans, giving them a chance at a respectable life... so to speak. With her secret network, Mama Willow's courtesan's became the most sought after and well taken care of courtesan's in the country. No person laid a harmful hand on any of her house and lived to tell about it, though never was the revenge able to be traced back to Mama Willow. One day, upon learning of a very prestigious secret, Mama Willow saw a chance to broaden her influence by black mailing a legendary. Obtaining immortality and power in exchange for keeping the secret, Mama Willow took control of the Entertainment District, finding homes for those who she could not previously provide for.
