Hello,
Approximately 3 days ago I obtained 2 used IBM 8224 24 port hubs from a used/discount computer shop here in town. I found that the hubs had the telnet administration disabled, and had most likely not been reset. Upon attaching the hub to my network it got an IP through DHCP from my DHCP server, so I was able to probe about it a bit. I was unable to find any way to remotely administer it, so I went to using the console attachment. I read the manual and it said to type VT100 after the AT command is displayed in my terminal screen. Despite all my efforts, the only thing I am able to have it show after the AT command is a row of Xs with pipe symbols interspersed within. I have attempted to connect using the console with a null modem cable without handshaking, one with loopback handshaking, and one with full handshaking. Despite all my tries I have exhausted my abilities to think of anything further, and am unable to get so much as a login prompt. Following is the output from one of the hubs upon bootup using the console:

Thank you for your time, and I hope you are able to respond. I know this is a long shot since the hardware is so old that the board is probably no longer watched, but here goes.
