You can connect with telnet just fine to different ports, both in Linux and Windows environment.
Im myself a developer of software, so it's not like I don't know what I'm dealing with.

Telnet connections normally use default port of 23.
In any case though, those ports we mentioned previously are currently closed and will need to be opened to allow the game to connect. Aion requires that TCP ports 80, 2106, 7777 and 10241 are fully unrestricted and accessible inbound and out. If you are connecting to Aion while on a campus or business network, please consult your network's administrator to verify that these ports are available.

64.25.37.38:10241 - connect failed
206.127.156.175:10241 - connect failed
206.127.156.176:10241 - connect failed
I can telnet connect to them just fine.
