This petition is directed to Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment Inc., former developer of third person point of view video game
Stargate Resistance, and MGM Interactive Inc., license holder of the Stargate franchise and all licenses thereof.
On Wednesday, November 17, 2010, a member of the Firesky staff posted the following in the Stargate Resistance forum:
Dear Valued Customer,
On November 16, 2010, the License Agreement between Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment, Inc. and MGM
Interactive, Inc. expired. As a result, Cheyenne will no longer be able to offer Stargate Resistance for sale
to new customers. However, in the best interests of our customers, game play will be provided for a
period of 60 days (until January 15, 2011) to customers who purchased Stargate Resistance prior to
November 16, 2010. Look for more information as it becomes available.
We, the undersigned, wish to show our eagerness for the continued development of Stargate Resistance.
We insist that the game and it's fanbase have seen much improvement to date, and further believe that
it will continue to do so. It is our wish that one of the following scenarios will allow us to continue what
has become an enjoyable pastime.
1.The development team is allowed to publish more content(ie: maps, player
models, and gametypes)
2.Continued hosting of the game by CME, as a service, as DCG/Firesky have
done, and will do for the next two months, with no further development
3.The distribution of the hosted server executables so that they can be run
privately, and public servers will be maintained by the public(ie. the SGR
community)
4.Full release of the entire game/source code to the community to be modified and improved
by the community, for the community
Thank you for taking the time to read this. It is our sincere hope that the wishes of the fanbase will be considered in any
decisions affecting the future of Stargate Resistance.
Sincerely,
The Undersigned
