Now that the Bowrd Network is getting the chance to expand, we need an official logo that people will recognize us by.

I know that some of you have some skills in photoshop and programs like it, but creating a logo is a bit different than what I've seen from any of you. If anyone would care to make some possible logos :fingersx: and submit them here it would be a greatly appreciated contribution; the more the better.

Because a logo is something that remains as an official insignia for a rather long time, I will try to be as meticulous as possible in coming to the final decision on which one to use. I hope everyone can understand that.

The concept behind the Bowrd is that eventually you will be able to go to a forum of any general genre by filling in the sub-domain accordingly. It's based of a wildcard system, so that may be an idea to incorporate into the logo. Bowrd with a *(the wildcard symbol) before it would work well if it can be pieced together nicely.. but really there is no specific manner in which the logo should be done. Anything creative and catchy is good, and if it captures the idea of the site with it, then it's even better.

The final product doesn't need to look "cool". It should be subtle, legible, clean, simple, and neutral. Special effects of any sort are redundant and unnecessary. Also, because the different sub-domains will use different skins, it would be ideal if the final product would work on any background or would at least be easy enough to edit to achieve the same purpose.

A favicon is the icon placed in the address bar as shown in this picture:

Once the logo is created a favicon is really simple to make. It's usually just the first part of the complete logo in a 16x16 image. The favicon can be done in the very end of the process.. it isn't the most important at this point.

All submissions will be considered but I cannot at this point say for sure if one of the submissions will end up being used. If nothing above average is submitted by anyone, I will look elsewhere for a designer :doubt:.

Everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions on any submissions, regardless of whether it's negative or positive feedback. Just try to give constructive criticism.

If any of you do come up with something, please post it in this thread: http://sanctum.bowrd.com/showthread.php?t=2238
