Type 1 diabetes accounts for about 10% of all diabetics.

Type 1 diabetes is one of the top 3 with diabetes mellitus type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes.

Diabetes type 1: an attack juvenile
This type of diabetes can occur at any time of life but it most often appears during childhood or early adulthood.

Generally, it occurs before the age of 30. In more than half the cases of type 1 diabetes diagnosed before 21 years, with a peak incidence at the age of puberty. It may even reach the young child.
