[17:28:22] * - irc.hackthissite.org Server Rules -
[17:28:22] * - - All rules are at the mercy of the oper's discretion. If they feel you are
[17:28:22] * - doing something that you shouldn't be, but not mentioned in the following
[17:28:22] * - rules, they have every right to take the neccesary action needed to quell
[17:28:22] * - the problem.
[17:28:22] * -
[17:28:22] * - - Do not bitch about enforcement of the following rules. They are set
[17:28:22] * - in stone and every oper will be enforcing them to the fullest extent possible.
[17:28:22] * - We are bringing about a change in the HackThisSite IRC. We do not want
[17:28:22] * - to hear how we are going against 'hacker culture', we are doing whats
[17:28:22] * - best for the community to grow into a more advanced and intellectual
[17:28:22] * - community. If you don't like it, leave.
[17:28:22] * -
[17:28:22] * - - First are listed the rules. Next are consequences for breaking a rule.
[17:28:22] * - Note: An op/oper does not have to follow the list of consequences.
[17:28:22] * - They are more of a guideline.
[17:28:22] * -
[17:28:22] * - Rules:
[17:28:22] * - 1) No racism. Cussing is fine, but racial/sexual slurs are not allowed.
[17:28:22] * - 2) No Spamming.
[17:28:22] * - 3) No discussion of illegal activities of any kind.
[17:28:22] * - 4) No outrageous abuse of fellow members or opers.
[17:28:22] * - 5) No advertising other networks or competing sites.
[17:28:22] * - 6) No insulting another user, if they wish to not be insulted
[17:28:23] * -
[17:28:23] * - Consequences:
[17:28:23] * - 1st time - Warning
[17:28:23] * - 2nd time - Kick
[17:28:23] * - 3rd time - Kickban (15 minutes)
[17:28:23] * - 4th time - Kickban (1 hour)
[17:28:23] * - 5th time - Gline (1 hour)
[17:28:23] * - 6th time - Gline (1 week)
[17:28:23] * - 7th time - Permanent Gline.
[17:28:23] * -
[17:28:23] * - - Not everything is currently defined in the rules. Most notably, use of
[17:28:23] * - common sense, being respectful, and other things that are just proper to
[17:28:23] * - being a decent human being are necessary on this network. Ignorance is
[17:28:23] * - bliss, but not on HackThisSite. Be kind, be respectful, don't be a jerk,
[17:28:23] * - use your common sense, etc. We don't require this of anyone, but it is
[17:28:23] * - requested, and keep in mind: The opers do reserve the right to deny your
[17:28:23] * - access should they feel you're disrupting the peace.
[17:28:23] * -
[17:28:23] * - - Now we understand people make mistakes and have accidents, hence the
[17:28:23] * - warning. And we aren't tallying up your scores as we go along, we generally
[17:28:23] * - know how many times someones said something and we know if you continually
[17:28:23] * - say racist things and we will use our own discretion, as stated by the first
[17:28:23] * - point, on how to deal with it.
[17:28:23] * -
[17:28:23] * - - We want this to be a good community. In the past few weeks, we've come
[17:28:23] * - under completely new management, and we are planning on changing several
[17:28:23] * - things around. HackThisSite is and has been regarded as a joke to the
[17:28:23] * - hacker field, and a place for criminal activity to everyone outside.
[17:28:23] * - That ends now.
[17:28:23] * -
[17:28:23] * - - Questions, let an oper know. Suggestions, let an oper know. Complaining
[17:28:23] * - about how the rules are 'unfair', keep it to yourself.
[17:28:23] * -
[17:28:23] * - - Last point. Don't try to "test" the opers or ops. Intentionally trying
[17:28:23] * - to start any kind of drama will not be tolerated. If you're simply looking
[17:28:23] * - for an debate, that's fine. There is a substantial difference between a
[17:28:23] * - 'debate' and an 'argument'. But please, do not disrupt public channels
[17:28:23] * - with frivolous debates, take it to a seperate channel or into a private
[17:28:23] * - message.
[17:28:23] * -
