\f0\fs30 \cf0 THE FOLLOWING ARE THE CHANNEL RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR #HAMRADIO -- THE FOLLOWING APPLY IN ADDITION TO THE FREENODE NETWORK GUIDELINES:\
\
Please understand, however, that there are no set of rules sufficient to handle every single scenario that may occur. If you see a circumstance we may have not covered, please respect our decisions. You are welcomed and encouraged, however, to bring ideas to the ops. We will look at each idea and change/reword the channel guidelines accordingly. \
\
\f1 ======
\f0 \
\
1. Please think about what you say before you say it.\
\
We are and always will be a friendly and inviting community. That said, there is to be absolutely no insulting, no name calling, and no racism. Furthermore, keep the swearing to a bare minimum. Do not link to anything which may be offensive, or 'not safe for work'.
\fs32
\f1\fs30 If you are uncertain whether a word is considered foul language, please be safe and do not use it. If you are uncertain, then it is highly likely that it would offend another. There is a distinct difference between how you can act in your own, private channel where everybody knows everyone else and a large, public channel with changing regulars and guests who have lots of different backgrounds.\
\
======\
\
2. Please be civil.\
\
Respect other people's opinions, whether you agree or not. Do not be rude, judgmental, or belittling. Do not accuse others of wrongdoing, engage in personal attacks, intentionally offend, or provoke the other folks in the channel. Furthermore, do not discuss or taunt users who have been removed, kicked, banned, quieted, or devoiced.\
\
======\
\f0 \
3. Please respect the decisions made by the channel operators. \
\
If you have been banned, there is likely a good reason behind it. Please accept it; if you feel you were unfairly banned, please let an op know, and we will discuss it accordingly. Most bans set are not permanent; once it is lifted, you are more than welcome to rejoin, provided you behave yourself and abide by these guidelines.\
\
The channel ops work hard to be fair and balanced. However, we may not always resolve an issue exactly the way *you* would. We are always willing to talk with you about any issues you have, however, we ask that if you disagree with our actions, please bring your criticism to /query.\
\
\f1 ======
\f0 \
\
4. Please respect everyone else in the channel.\
\
This is self explanatory, and is common sense - show others the same respect you would want them to show you.\
\
\f1 ======
\f0 \
\
5. Please stay on topic.\
\
While #hamradio is a channel focused on amateur radio and all of its aspects, discussions of things other than amateur radio are always welcome. However, there are a few items that *are* off-topic, and will not be tolerated. These are, but are not limited to politics, sex, religion, and pornography. If you feel the need to discuss any of these topics, take it to another channel.\
\
\f1 ======
\f0 \
\
6. Please handle any disputes off-channel.\
\
If a scenario arises where a dispute takes place, we ask that you take it to another channel, or handle it privately. Disputes are not to be handled and/or discussed in the channel.\
\
\f1 ======
\f0 \
\
7. Please be considerate.\
\
Do not intentionally annoy or harass the other users in #hamradio. Such instances are spamming, trolling, flamebaiting, astroturfing, soapboxing, or typing in all caps.\
\
\f1 ======
\f0 \
\
8. Please use a pastebin whenever possible.\
\
If you have more than 3 lines to paste, please use a pastebin, or take it to another channel or private. Flooding the channel with unnecessary text is inconsiderate, and will not be tolerated.\
\
\f1 ======
\f0 \
\
9.Please do not bring bots into the channel.\
\
If a bot is found on the channel, and has not been ok'ed by the channel operators, it will be removed. There are no exceptions to this rule.\
\
\f1 ======
\f0 \
\
10. Last. but not least, the most important rule of all is to HAVE FUN! :-)\
