Forty percent of NHS Direct's staff are trained nurses, whilst Dial 111 would effectively be manned by administrative instead.
So, using very crude maths: NHS Direct is said to employ 'more than 3000 staff', with forty per cent serving as trained nurses. The average wage for a trained nurse is NHS Band 6 (25,472). A Dial 111 administrator will likely be paid equivalent to administrative Band 2 (~14,000). This is an 11,472 saving for each of the 900 trained nurses, or 10.32m.

* This doesn't account for taxes, pensions or transfer payments, etc, but it should prove slightly cheaper than the existing system -- the question is whether or not the quality of the service would fall as a result of such savings.
** The saving is only real if the trained nurses are subsequently removed from the NHS payroll, rather than reallocated elsewhere. In the latter instance you would in fact be paying for more staff than previously.
