Investigating The Truth About: iPods
The iPod brand has become synonymous with excellent portable audio players, and likely by now, you, your friends, and any Joe Blow on the
street has one. We don't call them MP3 players any longer - now it's called an iPod, very much in the same manner as Kleenex or Band-aid. It's
been reputed as the very best in portable audio performance. It's been hailed as a revolutionary. According to Apple and other companies it has
the hands-down best battery life, storage space, size-to-weight ratio, best sound quality, among other features. Almost everyone in the world
knows the name iPod by now. How is it so popular though? If you read reviews of the iPod on Cnet and other reputable sources you will notice
that a slighty larger-than-average minority are complaining about various components of the iPod. I for one dislike the battery life expectancy on
my iPod which ranges from 6 to 9 hours. Don't you find it somewhat silly to have storage space for 10,000 songs, but the battery will only let you
play roughly 1/15th of that amount? Back on topic.
Like I asked before, how is the iPod so popular? Is it from effective and aggressive marketing ploys driven to the Generation Y market? Possibly
the wide spread knowledge of the iPod is from word of mouth. Surely. Sadly this is not the case. It appears that the popularity is being caused by
government funding and implementation.
