'So me and my old best friend are talking again as of yesterday. The crazy thing is that it's not even weird at all. We picked up where we left off. That's what it seems like.
'The stupid part of all this is that my friends don't like her and if I am friends with her they give me crap about it all the time. They used to and im pretty sure they will now. But real friends would be there for me no matter what. And that's the sad part. So i guess i need to find out who my true friends are. This ought to be interesting.'

'One day, when I was playing outside as usual, a really bad thunderstorm struck my town. It was cold and dark and I was lost on the way from the play ground to my house. That never happened to me before, and I must have taken the wrong street. Nevertheless, I realized I was lost and I sat under a sun-shade for hours and hours. Eventually, I fell asleep and when I woke up it was dark and I was really sick. I had a high fever. I had no strength left. I was sitting against the cold brick wall ,scared. The storm had destroyed the power lines, and the town had no light at all. I remember then, I started crying. I wanted to shout for help, but my voice was dead. I have no idea how much time passed by, but I finally saw some light. I heard someone shouting and running. I tried to shout back, but no one could hear my voice.
'Not long after, I started hearing my name. It was my dad. He was running all over the place calling my name with a flashlight in his hand. I faded. After the incident, I had to stay in bed for 4 months.'

'I decided to just keep on going through some of the laws (because, of course, it was Sally, not Olga who had allowed me to share this information with her.) So I asked Sally, "have you ever committed adultery". A very deep question, but we all know that adultery is wrong. Sally was like "what?.. no". I asked her if she has ever lusted after someone (that is desiring someone in a sexual way). She said yes. I explained to her that in Matthew 5:27-28 Jesus says that if you even look at someone with lust, you have already committed adultery with that person in your heart. People can only see what is happening on the outside, but God knows even our thoughts.
'Olga became furious! She started making smart remarks about the baby in the carriage and saying that Sally doesn't even know who the father is. I told her that that doesn't matter. After all, I'm sitting here nine months pregnant and full of my own issues. Olga started to get louder and the baby began to fuss. So Olga was like... this is rediculous! and looked at me with the biggest attitude and said "Who are you?" I paused... looked her in the eyes and gave her a big smile. I said.. "I'm Amber, and... I'm just a girl". Olga shook her head up and down and was like "yeah... well... Sally needs to feed her baby so we're gonna go!" in the nastiest voice. Sally stood up, grabbed her child and began to walk away as if I had the plague. I said to Sally "ok... enjoy your time at the harbor, and thanks for talking with me". Sally looked at me, smiled, and said "your welcome" as she walked away. And that was that.
'I sat there for a second and reflected on what had just happened. I'm already emotional enough... so you know the water works started flowing. It's very hard to stop a pregnant woman from crying. I had not said anything hurtful, dangerous, or disrespectful to Sally. I simply went through the law and she told me which ones she had kept or broken. It's very hard to admit to yourself when you've done wrong, and a lot harder when you have to tell others that you have done wrong. Sally had only gotten through 3 of the 10 commandments and could not stand to hear anymore about herself.'

'Martin Luther was a man who was influential in the molding of much of Christianity’s doctrine. He is heralded by many as a great father and someone who should be admired, studied and hallowed by all Christians. Surely, many have heard that Martin Luther was anti- Semitic, but not many know what great lengths he took in his endeavor to persecute God’s chosen people, and what harsh and evil words came from his heart.
'All of the following quotations are from a 65,000 word treatise he wrote towards the end of his life entitled “On The Jews and Their Lies”. This work is so radical in its anti-Semitism that is was used by the Nazi Party at the Nuremburg rallies, and was labeled by the Nazi controlled Newspaper Dur Sturmer as the most radically anti-semetic tract ever written. Nearly all anti-Semitic literature in Nazi-Germany (Luther’s home) quoted Luther’s writings. It greatly saddens me that this is the testimony that Martin Luther left the world regarding how those who call themselves by the name of Christ treat the Children of Abraham.'

'Anti semitism is a terrible thing. I am not a anti semetic and neither is the reformed church at large. should we abandon all of David scriptures because he sinned greatly in many ways... no. Was all of Martin Luthers theology wrong despite the fact that he was a great sinner who sinned in great ways.... no.'

'While taking time for healing – some comfort of mental mending – I came to realize I am a flip of a coin. A Pisces of purity: the Sinner or the Saint. That is how my vain mind works...how a compulsive need for perfection corrupts me. Defence mechanism or not, I am not without blame. In fact, I prefer to be liable than be pardoned...sick to death, I am, with Society’s deflection of blame. I cannot stand ready to be absolved by lame excuses – when did honour mean so little? Though, at times, my words betray me, I speak here and now clearly: I have no great justification, only what is...Presently, the evil being I am Today. Have not my letters proved I am consumed with wickedness? I state this disaster was not the reason but the root: a beginning to the story, simply, and not a validation of my chosen method to cope.'

'The word "absolute" comes from the Latin "absolvo," which means "absolved of referent." In other words, an absolute thing is a thing which may be fully accessed without interference from any other entity. Concepts do not function this way. When I "grasp" a concept, I MUST grasp it with reference to other things. Everything we think about and talk about is done at the very least with reference to LANGUAGE. Language is an inescapable referent. The nuances behind every word are slightly different for every person because of the countless experiences they link to that word.'

'An elderly patient who had Pneumonia was deteriorating right before our very eyes and there was nothing the hospital staff could do, well, actually, nothing the relatives would allow us to do. They opted for the biggest room on our floor but thought twice and often refused expensive procedures and certain comfort measures their limitation would allow us.'
