had this dream where in zelda1 i could walk through the corner of the mountains -- from the southeastern-most spot on the map -- then end up in a whole section in the next up-left spot. i could walk through walls ('walls') of various types, like forest(trees)/water/mountain/land -- with each of these types housing one specific spot which can be entered... wherein certain cinema scenes are fleshed out.
the game still remains with its usual 8-bit, graphical capability, but the designs organized within these cinema scenes -- some of them interactive -- are unlike anything else in the game.
one of the scenes featured a mostly plain, peach, circular face the size of 5 digdoggers -- with a female voice and two quite small round eyes, who was like, "Hi. I don't want to disgrace you with only my one face, so I'll morph into two." it did that, all while maintaining the same space (it didn't split into two creatures).
meanwhile during all of this face scene, the background is changing into different colors based on the feeling that the game wants the player to feel---leaning towards a march into uncontrolled insanity. the face starts vocally expressing various concerns about her morph ability, and how she is unable to control it anymore. more and more multiples of faces are made. i can't describe what happens during most of this process, and near the end, but it isn't pretty at all; it doesn't really have to do with faces anymore, either.
i can't remember any other scenes from the other three environments, besides one to do with some kind of a stretching plant that knocks link back out into the world map if he gets too close to it. i think the face thing was the last one i went to.
then i hear from the game an indication that there are bad guy fighters, of some new (i.e. not from zelda 1 / the real game) hylian field type, rummaging about that have some object that i'm supposed to get for someone.
that happens in a spot on the map below this hidden area (the spot below being part of the normal game: the part with mountain/land/beach split horizontally into three sections). i jump out from the mountains and in front of the leader who's running across the land, and get the item with my usual Link-holding-up-item pose.
(i think i've been controlling the game from my mind the whole time -- which basically plays out as one big perfect cinema orchestration, anyway.)
then his lackeys bump into me to knock the item away, one by one... with me included amidst them, so that i grab the item continuously as well. it's a lot of fun times.
we all run off to other areas of the map -- which by now are completely different visually, and graphically. they're trying to get to somewhere. ...i've forgotten all game themes and motivations by now. i think the driving force of interest stems from the fact that whole new sections of this game are happening. although, i think the themes were coherent at the time of the dream, and have only now been forgotten by the time of this typing.
anyway, most of this part takes place underwater (the battles RPG-style, at various times), with a ton of these long white eel creatures, with much rage, swimming around -- a couple fighting all of us. one that was impossible for me to defeat, without me being thrown off the battle field, while more of said lackeys are also thrown, was named MasaMune. wow that has nothing to do with anything. some cool part at the end of this eel madness, though, was that the eels were just trying to get to some ice-covered land; and they became tame once that happened -- and everyone realized that, shocked. (the whole ordeal was life-threatening, and i could feel that as if i hadn't saved my game.)
i think someone else eventually tags along with me, along with her partner: death. the last thing i remember is death being thrown up to the dark sky (we'd been approaching some final-game building destination), and being sliced in half by a huge block of wood -- the size a hundred 2x4s put together side-by-side, sharpened at one edge. stupid ho starts crying, and death just comes right back anyway.
