Myself, Henry Ford, today will be speaking to you about myself. I was born on the 30th of July in 1863. I was the first child of William and Mary Ford’s six Children. I grew up in a family farm in which is now called “Michigan”. I enjoyed my childhood years, doing farm chores and going to a One-Room School. Soon after I started getting much more interested in Mechanical Items and less interested in Farm work.

In 1879 when I was 16 years of age I left my own family’s home to work in the city which was close by called Detroit. I wanted to work as an apprentice machinist, but sometimes I did return to my home on the farm to work there. I stayed as an apprentice for the next 3 Years and returned to Dearborn. The next few years I divided my time between operating or repairing steam engines. In 1888, I Married a gorgeous woman named Clara Bryrant. We both ran a sawmill together.

In 1891 I changed into a engineer with Edison’s Company in Detroit. This signified me to make a decision if I wanted to dedicate my life to industrial pursuits. In 1893 I was promoted to Chief Engineer and I was given enough money and time to devote my attention to my own personal experiments like the Internal Combustion Engine.

in 1896 I invented the self-propelled Quadricycle. The vehicle had four wheels, wheels exactly the same as normal Bicycle wheels. It was steered like a boat and had only 2 speeds that let you moved forward and not reverse.

After I unsuccessfully trying to establish a company to make automobiles, Ford Motor Company was incorporated in 1903 with myself as the Vice president and Chief in Engineering. Our small progressing company was advancing, making only a few cars a day with a few men per each car.

Then Finally, my dream of manufacturing an automobile that was priced reasonably and reliable, also efficient with the introduction of the MODEL T in 1908. This vehicle was really easy to Use, Operate and it could handle Rough Roads. It was a huge success to the company and myself.

By 1918 half of the cars that were used in America, were the Model Ts. After the major success I opened a Massive Factory for Car Manufacturing at Highland Park, In Michigan, 1910. In 1913 a continuous moving assembly line was made. Using that conveyer belt was just a great idea but it was a tough job keeping it smooth and good timing made it possible. This made automobile manufacturing so much easier and much faster, reducing assembly time for the manufacturing of vehicles, and therefore lowering the cost also. The Production of the Model Ts made Henry Ford’s company the largest automobile manufacturer in the world!

1927, all the steps in the manufacturing process from refining raw materials to final assembly of the automobile took place at the cast Rogue Plant, characterizing My idea of Mass Production.

Thanks for listening to my talk and maybe one day you could be a famous inventor like me!
