Proposal for Shared Server Resource Script

Introduction
This proposal outlines the creation, currently underway, and use of a script to pull data from servers. This script will improve monitoring and administration of the shared server network. It will also provide proactive notifications and information so that we can prevent problems before they start. This will also aid in technical / customer support as it will prevent servers from being loaded too much and possibly prevent crashing.
All of this adds to a better environment for our servers and customers.
Script Details
The script, currently being developed by Cooper, is written in PHP. It will be run on a cron (nightly) to gather the following data:
1) Number of Accounts on the Server
2) Disk Usage of /
3) Disk Usage of /boot
4) Disk Usage of /tmp
5) Disk Usage of /backup
Once collected, a .XLS is created (to be opened with Microsoft Excel), and emailed to all@hostforweb.com or another specified email address.
The format of the spreadsheet is like the one attached.
Later Versions
The script has a lot of potential. Later versions may include data such as Top Ten Accounts by Disk Usage.
Conclusion
This script and its use will greatly help the organization and proactive problem prevention of our shared servers.
