I thought it would be a better idea to move this off the ship, since I have a feeling it's going to become Brandon and I bantering back and forth. <G>
My edict saying that it's my hope the Entente remains fighter-oriented doesn't give permission to change a spec and a CO can't just ignore or modify parts of a spec to suit his whim. To emphasize, as well, the Entente is *not* a carrier. It's a freaking huge battleship that happens to carry enough fighters to give it a fighter feel. That's *it*. :) As for the coincidence regarding the name, you'd have to ask the designer why he chose that class name. <G>
Finally, 100 square meters is actually fairly realistic. Using the Compy's specs as a guideline, since that's the current fighter, it's a tad over 58 square meters big. Adding in all the necessary equipment to maintain the fighter makes 100 meters a little spacy, but nothing too awful.
