Hi List,

I have the following error when cross compiling. I will outline everything again to give you as much information as possible.
I am trying to cross-compile NMM to a PowerPC architecture for an embedded system. My host pc is a bock standard i386 Pentium. I use the following information when running configure:

./configure CC=ppc-linux-gcc CXX=ppc-linux-g++ ARCH=ppc CROSS_COMPILE=ppc-linux- --host=ppc --with-xml-prefix=/opt/mcp/ppcnf/crossroot/usr --with-ltdl=/opt/mcp/ppcnf/crossroot/usr --target=ppc --with-extra-includes=/tmp/nmm-0.9.1-external-includes --with-extra-libs=/tmp/nmm-0.9.1-external-libs --with-png=/opt/mcp/ppcnf/crossroot/usr --with-jpeg=/opt/mcp/ppcnf/crossroot/usr --with-mad=/opt/mcp/ppcnf/crossroot/usr --prefix=/tmp/build --disable-mmbox --disable-qregwizard --disable-qcamctrl --disable-qvcore --disable-documentation --disable-a52 --disable-ffmpeg-nmm --disable-ffmpeg --disable-cdda --disable-divx --disable-dvdread-nmm --disable-dvdread --disable-dvdnav-nmm --disable-dvdnav --disable-gd --disable-gl --disable-jpeg --disable-l1394 --disable-raw1394 --disable-lame-nmm --disable-lame --disable-magick-nmm --disable-magick --disable-lirc --disable-alsa --disable-live --disable-mad-nmm --disable-mad --disable-curses --disable-qt3 --disable-librfftw --disable-shout --disable-xercesc-nmm --disable-xercesc --disable-oggvorbis-nmm --disable-vorbistest --disable-oggvorbis --disable-x11 --disable-viscacamera --disable-streamingserver --disable-clic –disable-plugins

You can see the compiler I am using (ppc-linux-gcc and ppc-linux-g++ are the PowerPC compilers version 3.3.3)
After running configure I need to replace the contents of the idl directory with a manually compiled version using my host intel pc, otherwise they are compiled in ppc format aswell (although i commented out the last 3 lines in Makefile.am – but anyway this works!)

Now typing 'make' the system starts compilation which takes about 10-15 minutes. However at some point I get the following error:

ClientRegistry.cpp: In constructor `NMM::ClientRegistry::ClientRegistry()':
ClientRegistry.cpp:51: error: `NMM::NMMObject' is an inaccessible base of `
   NMM::PluginManager'
make[4]: *** [ClientRegistry.lo] Error 1
make[4]: Leaving directory `/tmp/nmm-0.9.1/nmm/base/registry'
make[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/tmp/nmm-0.9.1/nmm/base'
make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/tmp/nmm-0.9.1/nmm'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/nmm-0.9.1'
make: *** [all] Error 2

I tried replacing my ppc-linux-g++ with version 3.4.1 but when using that one I get an error during ./configure saying:
configure: error: *** Could not determine 3rd argument of accept(), strange system! ***

I also tried replacing the line 51 with the following:
  NMMObject* tmp_object =
 dynamic_cast<NMMObject*>(&SPluginManager::getInstance());
__internal_p_manager.reset(tmp_object->getInterface<IPluginManager>());
 but to no avail. Is there anything I am omitting, anything I can do differently to make this work? Is there any older/newer source available which would work with my 3.3.3 or how to set it up to work? I just need to run serverregistry on the embedded system for the moment so if you could hint me to as to what I can furtherly disable, omit etc ...

Regards,
Jason Filos.
