modem > airport express (main base station w/ i.p. of 192.168.2.1) > airport express (remote base station w/ i.p. of 192.168.2.2)

I can see both using Airport Admin Utility (on ibook using wifi)

Using my iMac (w/o wifi), i tried: `sudo ifconfig 192.168.2.5 netmask 255.255.255.0; ping 192.168.2.1`

both airport expresses do not resolve.

I was able to ping 192.168.2.1 when connected to it via CAT5e - but it didn't work with WDS + remote base station.

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=108038#4 says that it is possible, but I am not sure what i misconfigured.
