A case for canceling Chuck.

First, let me say that its not because of the writing, acting, or any other fault. I love the show, the characters and even the plot (despite some rather unbelievable revelations).

Spoilers ahead sprinkled throughout like cookie dough in ice cream...

Frankly though, with their future uncertain and with recent plot developments (i.e. no more CIA Intersect in Chuck's brain), it seems like they could gracefully end it rather easily and completely with the wedding. The last episode really tied up some crazy loose ends. No more Fulcrum (aside from Chevy Chase, but he's just one guy. Arrest him and be done with it); the intersect cube is secured, *and* Orion can help the CIA build a new Intersect if necessary. The Chuck mission is over, and he's free to go about his normal life. How can they come back from this and make it interesting for future seasons?

Maybe Chuck still has the Fulcrum intersect in his brain, but what good is it if they're pretty much destroyed? You know there's going to be some drama at the wedding, but will there be enough to warrant another 13 episodes? (maybe Elle gets kidnapped?) They already came close to jumping the shark by making Chuck's long-lost dad the designer of the intersect. Maybe his mother is the head of Fulcrum? Unless something happens to make Chuck a high-risk asset again, what's to keep Casey and Sara (Sarah?) from leaving and doing their next assignment? I could see Chuck becoming a spy, but the whole "Damn! If only I had some sort of intersect back in my brain, I could be helpful"-angle would only carry two, maybe three episodes at best.

I think it'd be better for everyone if they just call it a day, have Morgan go to Hawaii and become a Benihanna's chef, let Elle and Awesome get married (with some zany Chevy Chase action!), and let Chuck... do something else. Move out maybe. I don't know, what Chuck's life will be like after the intersect is rather uncertain. This is probably where I could see the bulk of a next season targeting. Adjustment. That doesn't make good tv.

Just my two, perhaps three cents. Reply back if you wish.
