Congratulations, your STF account has been activated! You can now login using the information that was emailed to you when you joined. If you no longer have the email, go to www.star-fleet.com, and follow the link for lost passwords.

Your character assignment is:

Name: [Character name]
Rank: [rank]
Fleet: [fleet]
Ship: [ship]
Department: [department]

Please report for duty as soon as possible. Your Captain and the crew of the [ship] await your arrival.

To write your first post simply navigate to the MOTD (Message Of The Day) of your assigned ship, this can be found by first selecting your fleet (as above) from the left navigation block, and then your ship. Once presented with the MOTD scroll down to find the "Post Note" link above the ships roster (the list of crew and character currently assigned to the ship). This will bring you to a page where you can author a brand new post.

Firstly select the appropriate location for your characters reporting in. This will depend on your department and what is currently happening in the sim, however, it is often safe to stick with "Office: [DHs Title]" for [department] officers. Secondly, select the character that has been created for you from the drop down. The most important step is the actual post. In STF this done in the third person past tense, much like a lot of novels you might read. A typical reporting in post would read:

Stepping out of the turbolift, Ensign Johnson approached the [DH]s office, adjusting his uniform before activating the doors.

Stepping in his eyes focused in on the officer sitting behind the desk. He cleared his throat and folded his arms behind his back ready to proclaim his reporting in.

"Good morning, Sir. Ensign Johnson reporting as ordered for duty."

He could feel the adrenaline in his blood as he breathed in the atmosphere of his first real assignment out of the Academy. He hoped he could perform as well as he'd been trained, as well as he felt he could.

	Ensign Johnson (Security)

However, this is just a sample and should be used as a basis to explore your own creativity and your characters emotions and feelings when reporting in. To the write the post to the system and post it permanently, click the button bellow the writing area marked "Submit".

After you login and report for duty, you are bound to have some questions about STF and the WeBBspace. Don't worry, the Personnel Dept, has put together a page especially for new members, called the New Member's Page. This page has links to many useful areas of STF including the Academy the Players Handbook which provides extensive information on all aspects of STF. It is available at:

Following this email you should be contacted by your Commanding Officer and mentor (if you selected one). If you still require help, then please feel free to email the Personnel Department at:
