KilGrey's General Strategy and Character Bank!

Town strategy: lynch the Mafia! The tricky part for the town is each town member is on his own and doesn’t know who the other Mafia members are, and while you have the advantage in numbers, the Mafia have the advantage of knowing who else is on their team. Try to turn this disadvantage into an advantage, watch to see which players defend each other too strongly, and use the information gathered from kills (either lynches or nigh kills) to decide who to vote for. Also look at a players voting history and behavior to try to find scummy patterns. It’ll be tricky at first, but remember the Mafia players are just as new to this as you are, and might not have the knack right away for deception.

Mafia strategy: don’t get lynched! The townies are really flying blind since the only alignment they know of is their own. If they go after other townies it’s good news for you, while if they start voting for Mafia members you might be in trouble. Try to use your vote and voice to draw attention away from your fellow Mafia members. Be sure not to lurk, since saying nothing can draw much more attention to yourself than you’d expect! Use your night kill and roleblocks to try to find and kill power roles, or to influence the way the town will vote!

Vanilla Townie: While you might not have any special night actions, you are still the most important part of the town. Your vote is the most important power the town can have, it is what wins or loses games. Your strength is in your numbers as there are a lot of vanilla townies in a game. Keep your eye on the game and use your vote wisely.

Cop strategy: don’t announce you’re the cop right away! The Mafia will simply kill you or roleblock you! Try to find as many scum as possible without being killed, and remember even finding someone is a townie is a good thing, since you know you can trust that player. You must walk a fine line between using your information to help the town and drawing too much Mafia attention to yourself. How you play the role beyond this is up to you!

Doctor strategy: don’t announce you’re the Doctor right away! The Mafia know you can’t protect yourself, so they will be sure to kill you as soon as possible. Use your protection on people you think will be targeted by the Mafia kill, or on the Cop or Vigilante if they’ve been forced to admit they are power roles. Try not to protect Mafia members from the vigilante accidentally! Your power is in secrecy, and exposed you won’t be very useful at all. Beyond this who you protect and why are questions you’ll have to answer for yourself!

Vigilante strategy: don’t kill right away! The more time that passes the more information the town will have, and you’ll have a better idea of who is scum. Killing a Mafia member at night will make you a town hero, but if you kill a town member you’ll practically be working for the Mafia! You’re also vulnerable, and a big threat to the Mafia, so the fact that they do not know your identity yet is your best defense. Remember you only have two kills so use them wisely, who and when you kill is up to you!

Serial Killer Strategy: don't get lynched! You are the lone villian with a tough road to climb. You want both mafia and the town dead. Use your night kills as strategically as possible to remove threats to yourself, but leave those that can help you get farther in the game be it because they are on the wrong track, because they trust you or perhaps because they can kill at night and help bring the numbers down for you. But beware that gun isn't turned onto you! Like the mafia, try not to lurk, you don't want undue attention turned onto you but it might be smart not to be the town leader and raise the ire of the mafia. It's a fine line you must walk!

Inventor:You have various gadgets and gizmos that you can gived to other players. They can do a variety of things from the good to the bad. Choose your recipients carefully, some might get tricks some might get treats!

Masons: You are a town aligned group that can talk outside the thread! Use your ability to communicate to help each other find scum and keep the other from getting lynched!

FBI Agent (SK cop): Like the cop, don't announce you're the cop right away! Your job is to find the serial killer and bring him to justice! Remember though, just because you find someone to not be the serial killer, does not mean they aren't mafia so be wary of who to trust due to your results!

Roleblocker: You get to chose one player a night to stop from performing their actions. A role blocker can be town OR mafia. If you are town, use your actions wisely, while it may stop the mafia from some evil intent, if you choose poorly you can also stop the doctor from protecting or the cop from investigating. If you are mafia, do your best to find those pesky power roles and stop them from doing harm to your group! Whatever your alignment is remember to keep your eyes on the game!

Jailer: A jailor is a role that can both protect and roleblock. At night, you put someone in jail and they can not perform their actions BUT they can not be harmed either. Use your role wisely, if you are town protecting a cop is good you also need to weigh if it's worth taking him away from his night actions. If you are mafia, you can stop someone from doing their action, but you also will keep them from being killed that night.

Watcher: During the evening you get to pick a player and watch them. If anyone targets them, you will see who! Unfortunately you don't get to see WHAT that player is doing so be careful how much you reveal to the town. While you might catch scum, you can also out a town role such a cop or doctor.

Tracker: This is a role like the watcher, only if your target performs a night action, you get to see on who. Again, be careful how much you reveal as you don't get to see WHAT that player did.

Beloved Princess: You are the bell of the ball and the apple of everyones eye. When you are killed, the entire game goes into mourning and the next day phase is skipped. It's probably a good idea for you to play well and stay out of the lime light, an extra night can harm the town.

Thief: You are able to steal items from other players. Depending on your alignment this could be good or bad. If you are town, you don't want to steal a gun from your town vigilante but it can be quite powerful if you find a mafia member and steal their ability to kill. If you are mafia and are able to remove the threat of a town vigilante you've possibly saved your the lives of your team members. There might be other fun (or harmful) items in the game for you to gain for your team so be on the look out and use your newly aquired items wisely!

Mafia Goon: You are vanilla mafia and while you don't have special night actions you still are important to the numbers of your team. You might be able to take more risks than your fellow powered mafia buddies. Keep your mind sharp and don't get lynched!

Bodyguard: During the night you pick one person to protect. If they are targeted, you die instead. Your glory is in sacrificing yourself for others. But make sure you choose wisely. The people you are trying to protect are the ones that have powers that can help the town find scum. So pay attention in the game to who those people might be.

Mafia Godfather: You are in charge of the mafia. You are the one who gets the final say, use this power wisely to help your group make smart choices. Since you are the leader of the group, that must mean you are the smartest and have been around awhile. This makes it so you appear as town on all cop investigations. You can put yourself out there a little more than the rest of your crew, hell, it might be better for you to stick your neck out and draw an investigation. A mafia member that the town thinks is one of them can go a long way.

Bulletproof: Usually a town role, but occasionally a mafia role. You are immune to all non-lynch type kills. Keep your head in the game and look as town as possible. You have the advantage of not being able to die at night so you can ruthlessly go after the bad guys during the day!

Firefighter: You can protect people from a serial killer death. Pay attention to how people act in the thread, you win with the town and wouldn't it be horrible to protect one of those pesky mafia members from death? Use your protection wisely.

Bus Driver: You can be a town or a mafia role. You switch to players during the night so all actions made toward Person A will hit Person B and all actions aimed at Person B will hit Person A. If you are town and have this role you can try to save a townie by switching them with someone you think is scum so any kill attempts are directed at them. If you are mafia and have this role you can try to move your people into better positions for doctor protects or to avoid roleblocks.
