Aldy: This is Aldy, I will be assisting you on this case.

Aldy: Kindly hold for 2 minutes and I will check your case. Thank you.

Aldy: Thank you for waiting...

you: Okay

Aldy: You have informed us that the motherboard has a burnt mark on the CPU socket, is that correct Sir?

you: no, one of the chips next to the CPU socket

you: near the VRM heatsink

Aldy: How was it burned Sir?

you: I'm not sure. I was working on the PC and suddenly there was a loud bang and spark with lots of acrid smoke. I immediately pulled the plug and took the motherboard out.

Aldy: Please be advised that we do not provide warranty replacement for physically damage units.

you: physically damaged?!

Aldy: Units with physical damage automatically void the warranty Sir.

you: it burnt by itself

Aldy: Including burnt marks Sir.

you: so

you: if the thing just decided to burn by itself because of a manufacturing defect, it wouldn't be covered under warranty?

Aldy: No Sir, the motherboard would not burned by it self, maybe by external causes like electrical spikes.

you: okay then

you: I know what to do

you: so I'll have to get a new board?

you: Great, thanks for your time

Aldy: We apologize for that Sir.

you: oh by the way, how would you know that boards would not burn by themselves?

Aldy: As physically damage units are not covered with 3 year limited warranty.

you: Have your techs physically tested every Intel desktop board ever made with every possible combination in every possible usage scenarios?

you: scenario*

Aldy: By the way, please open the link about 3 year limited warranty

you: okay, goodbye

you: and have a nice day

you: I'll just be getting a new board

Aldy: Again we apologize for that.
