Your eye is drawn by a flickering glow to a blue-furred fox with
a few adjustements. Not only does his fur shine in the light, but
it has a strange, moving glow behind it that can be seen whenever he
steps into shadow. Like a gentle fire or sunlight shining through the
leagues of darkest blue water. A long patch, running from the underside
of his muzzle to the insides of his legs is a shining silver, the same
colour appears in a dollop on the tip of his tail. Picked out through
his fur is a web of even brighter silver lines, sometimes following
smooth organic curves, sometimes perfectly straight with right angles.
Piercingly bright flashes of light run along the lines, coming faster,
brighter, and more numerously when he moves or seems deep in thought.
The lines are thicker on the right side of his body, concentrating
most in a few spots. One is his right ear which differs from the left
in being edged with silver filigree (tending to hold it perked but not
stiff enough to impede all movement) and lined with thin silver threads,
quivering with every sound. Close by is his right eye, the silver tracery
there radiating out from an telescoping arrangement in a round pattern.
The telescope extends a little way from his face, growing shorter or
longer with a quiet 'whirr' as he focuses, the slightly luminous lens
showing as much a gleam of intelligence as the natural eye on the left.
His right arm hasn't been quite as extensively modified. The tips of
his fingers are solid silver, the multitude of silver lines on the back
of each finger glowing almost continuously whwnever he touches anything.
A small metal housing covers the back of ever joint on the arm and hand,
the same quite whirring coming from them with any mov
The fox is oddly cool to the touch, easy and quiet and moving with an
engineered grace. He watches the world from three meters with the quiet,
serene joy from the perfect reason of a mind more gears and lightning
than flesh.
