mIRC setup. After you sued up your 30-day trail you can still use mIRC, just wait for a few seconds for the Continue button to appear.
---
When you get mIRC be sure the first thing you do is to set up the server.
To do this go to: Tools > Options > Connect > Servers. Then click add. Create a server with:
Description "SwiftIRC"
IRC server "irc.swiftIRC.net"
Port "6667"
Password; Don't set any, this is for server maintence.
-----
When you go to the mIRC options screen, it'll ask for your full name, e-mail, nickname and alternative.
Enter your full name (used for /whois), e-mail (registration), nickname, and your alternative nickname.
Then click connect; welcome to the SwiftIRC network.
You will want to register your nickname so no one else will steal it. Type in: /msg NickServ Register (PASSWORD) (E-MAIL)
Then check your e-mial for a confirmation e-mail.
-----
Now, go to Tools > Scripts editor
Then switch to the Alias tab and add (copy/paste) next to the other default commands:
/nsid /msg NickServ IDENTIFY $1
/kick /kick $chan $1 $2- 7[14 $+ $me $+ 7]
/ban /mode $chan +b $address( $+ $1 $+ ,2)
/unban /mode $chan -b $address( $+ $1 $+ ,2)
-----
Now you can join a chanel (chatroom).
To join a channel type in /join (CHANNEL).
