well im typing this on another comp not my linux box, so im going to try and type it word for word
i have 2 problems that i can see as of now, im trying to get the Gentoo-Sources Kernel 2.6.11-r3 working on my Dell Latitude CPi laptop here (P2-366 w/ 256mb ram). Genkernel is the only way i've got it to successfully boot, and using that kernel i got kde and a few other things emerged, but i want to manually configure my own kernel and its not working out for me. anyways here are the errors

During boot, it gets to Starting devfsd, i get an error there that says:
/sbin/rc: line 271: /sbin/devfsd: No such file or directory

and for the 2nd and biggest error (that is preventing further booting)

at Checking root filesystem i get the error:
fsck.ext3: No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/hda3
/dev/hda3: The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2 filesystem. If the devicee is valid and it really contains an ext2 filesystem (and not swap or ufs or something else), then the superblock is corrupt, and you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock:
(example command it gives --> e2fsck -b 8193 <device>)
Filesystem couldn't be fixed.

i dont think theres any problems with the filesystem, as i can swap over to my genkernel kernel, and it'll boot right up, but with alot of junk in it, so i want to do as i've always done and manually config this beast. anyways i've gone over and over this kernel trying to figure it out, and got nowhere, so here it is guys, lemme know if ya have any ideas. i'd greatly apriciate it.
