rendered paste bodytsalsa version 2008-07-15 Fri Jul 25 09:29:45 PET 2008 Problem: i want to play surround sound in Kubuntu-kde4 (i even cannot do that in ubuntu without Pulseaudio) with my Creative Sound Blaster AUDIGY SE sound card. I do not know how to deal with sound management tools like Phonon, Pulseaudio(if any), Xine, Alsa. I tried some .asoundrc scripts from the web to get surround40 but without any luck. I can see 3 devices in the Phonon Sound Administration: Audigy SE [SB0570] (CA0106); CA0106, CA0106 (side speakers); and the last (by clicking in 'show advanced devices') is PulseAudio. My soundcard crackles when sounds start and end. I tried with the 'Pulse Audio Perfect Setup' tutorial but i have failed. I do not know what else to do. I think to install a good linux distribution which can manage very good my soundcard, i am looking for that distro.
