[09:00:56 AM] jerron: Good Morning y'all! Ron Arts with NeoNova currently has a TE120 in a server. He says his telco is telling him that the cards output lvl's are at -40dbm, while it should be at -10dbm. This is causing call quality issues throughout all of his calls (excluding internal of course). Does anyone know: If this is a known issue? What the cause is? & What we can do?
[09:01:49 AM] russell: I'm not sure what you mean by "output levels"
[09:01:58 AM] russell: but there are 2 potential things you can tweak, depending on what they are talking about
[09:02:09 AM] russell: the first is the line buildout option in zaptel.conf
[09:02:21 AM] russell: the other is to tweak the txgain in zapata.conf
[09:06:10 AM] jerron: russell, thanks, what specifically would help in the line buildout of zaptel.conf?
[09:06:23 AM] russell: increasing it?
[09:06:44 AM] russell: but from what it sounds like, it's probably more likely that they're talking about gains
[09:07:13 AM] russell: you may need to clarify ...
[09:08:22 AM] jerron: that's all the informationt he customer has. Telco says that this causes a "protocol error" on their side, and after a certain number of these errors the line is reset apparently
[09:11:17 AM] russell: o.O
[09:11:27 AM] russell: ok, in _that_ case ... it's likely the line buildout options
[09:11:30 AM] russell: s/options/option/
[09:14:27 AM] jerron: with E1?
[09:15:28 AM] russell: yes ... zaptel.conf
[09:22:02 AM] jerron: russell, thanks. I'll pass that along to the customer
[09:24:36 AM] rnewton: Jerron: the buildout options depend on the physical cable length to the smartjack
[09:24:50 AM] rnewton: Jerron: that may be apparent by the sample configs, but I thought I would mention it anyway
[09:25:34 AM] jerron: pulled up a pdf. I haven't messed with lbo so I wasn't sure which direction to go for a couple of minutes. thanks guys
